The Chemical division was set up in 1974 to cater for the needs of the then emerging textile and chemical industry. As the textile sector has boomed, so has the demand for our two product lines, namely textile processing auxiliaries and dyestuffs. Not only have we catered for this new demand, but we have also maintained our servicing of the existing demand for a variety of other chemical products.

In 1995 Pharmacie Nouvelle Ltd was appointed as the Sole Distributor of textile dyes for DyStar, the new textile dye company of Bayer and Hoeschst. In year 2000, Dystar integrated with BaSF Dyes Division to become New Dystar to maintain and consolidate its world leadership in textile dyes. As representatives of two leading global brands - Bayer and DyStar - we can keep on promising only the highest quality.

Today, about twenty-five years after its creation, the Chemical division has grown considerably and contributes to more than a quarter of the company's turnover. Moreover, this division is one of the major suppliers to the chemical industry in Mauritius, thus contributing significantly to the success of a key economic sector.
